Scarlet

Scarlet takes place right after Cinder in the Lunar Chronicles.

Scarlet Benoit is an eighteen-year-old girl with wild red hair and an old red hoodie who lives on a farm with her grandmother in Rieux, France.

But her grandmother has been missing for two weeks now.

And no one was doing anything to find her.

Except Scarlet.

Disappearing wasn't something her grandmother would just DO. The police hadn't been helpful--they couldn't track her, since her ID chip had been cut out--they told Scarlet she must've committed suicide. That there was no indication of foul play. That no one had kidnapped her.

But Scarlet knew better.

One day, while delivering food from her farm to a local tavern, she meets the handsome--but ultimately intimidating--street fighter called "Wolf".

He had wild, unkempt hair, and pale green eyes. Also, scars. Lots of scars. He didn't belong in Rieux. That much was clear.

But there was also a softness, an almost timid curiosity to him.

Scarlet was surprised to find out that even though he had a more than sufficient appetite, he didn't even know what a tomato was!

He was always moving, his legs churning beneath the table like the Road Runner. Or, I suppose, he was Wile E. Coyote. Always had a tic of some sort.

He was dangerous. Could kill her pretty easily. But Scarlet was a fighter too.

And he knew how to find her.

So, against her better judgement, she decided to trust him in her search to find her grandmother.

Now, for the content. A few blips of language, I don't remember there being a lot, but there IS definitely more violence in this one. It's also a little bit creepier. I'm not trying to spoil anything--but there is gore. A bit of gore.

There's also some kissing involved... (Just so you know)

And yes, it is the story of Little Red Riding Hood. And the Big Bad Wolf.

Thanks for reading! Comment below on what I should do a review about next!
